Dancehall pioneer Winky D is amongst the African artists set to perform live at the Zimfest on 3 August at Colesdale Farm, England.
The one day event which will feature Zimbabwe’s finest talent, brings together artists from all over Zimbabwe and Africa who share a common love for African culture. The international event celebrates Zimbabwean culture, arts, music, food and sports whilst attendees network and bask under the European sun.
The Harare born star will headline the event along with Chimurenga musician Thomas Mapfumo, who has gained his international status for his music and popularity as the leading Chimurenga musician.
Winky D has been a serial hit maker for over a decade and has left fans mesmerised with his performances. His thought provoking lyrics keeps fans at the edge of their seats as he does storytelling like the seasoned artist he is.
ExQ, Eenzo Ishall, Levels Chillspot, Crooger, Busi Muhlanga and Tsungai Tsikirai are some of the performers for the event. Including South African acts DJ Zinhle and Gemma Griffiths who collaborated with Winky D for his latest offering Mugarden.
To keep the crowd on their feet whilst on the decks are DJs Tamuka, Mkhukhwini, Kaycie, King Alfred Nero and Welly T just to name a few.
At the festival there will be two DJ arenas, food and art stalls and a kid’s area where children will enjoy fun and games.
Event organisers say that the aim of the event is to offer an inclusive experience where people create lasting memories. They have organised shuttle services to give event goers easy access to the venue.
Tickets can be purchased at the zimfestival.com website and they include packages for everyone’s convenience.
