The Zimbabwe senior men’s soccer team, The Warriors, blew a chance of a naked photo dedication promised to them by Netherlands based, controversial artist, Vimbai Zimuto on Friday after losing in their opening match, one-nil to hosts, Egypt .
The Warriors are currently in Egypt representing the country at Africa’s biggest bi-annual football showpiece running from 21 June to 19 July.
Speaking on social media ahead of Friday’s opening match, while responding to a post by music analyst and social media influencer, Plot Mhako who had pointed out that the warriors could do with some motivation from her, Vimbai said she will do something hot for the boys if they win.
“Vimbai aregerera maWarriors (Vimbai you should have done something for the Warriors). They could do with some motivation,” wrote Mhako.
Responding, Vimbai said, “Vakangowina chete (If they win then definitely). Its a promise. Kadhashhhhh.”
Alas! The Warriors, despite their decent display on Friday, failed to win, which inconvenienced social media detectives who had kept their eyes wide open, ready to see Zimuto’s latest from her raunchy gallery.
Fortunately, there still is some hope as the Warriors still have two more games to play. Their next match will be on Wednesday against Uganda while their final group stage match will be on Sunday against the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Meanwhile, another dedication in form of a song by award-winning contemporary musician Jah Prayzah has gone amiss after it received heavy backlash from women and child rights activists who say the song demeans and downgrades women.
