On her post on Instagram, she wrote “I have been through difficult times with my body. I was sexually abused as a child. This is the first time I’ve ever spoken about it but I felt that coming full circle on something that I had done that gave a lot of power and courage to people who came to me every day to say this has been my life and this has been my body, I thought that I can’t go through this life without releasing this for myself but also for family because the person that was involved needs to know that a) I forgive and b) they need to forgive themselves,”

Mhende joined Generations The Legacy in 2016 and assumed the controversial character of Wandile the son to business mogul Zola Radebe who then transitioned into a woman.
Her character was, however, cut short by the producers of the soapie after an outcry from the fans who said that the character was not interesting enough.
Generations The Legacy's communications department opened up that Chi Mhende was not fired from the soapie neither did she underperform but they just didn't see her storyline go on.
Mhende who last appeared on Generations The Legacy end of April has since moved on with her career and has got some theatre productions in the pipeline.
Chiedza Mhende is amongst the actors and actresses that are making it on the South African Television Screens. Other actors include Leroy Gopal, Mbo Mahocs and Melghin Tafirenyika.
