It is game on as Madirirano music festival clashes with Unplugged Zimbabwe
in a battle of numbers and business on 11 August.
Themed Usarare Special Edition, Madirirano-a brainchild of Simbarashe “Simba Bodyslam” Chakare- has just announced that they will be having their 2019 second edition on the same date as Unplugged Zimbabwe.
Madirirano made its debut last year coming in as a rescue package for showgoers who felt out by the “elitist” Unplugged Zimbabwe.

The event will be buttressed by a hot lineup of artists that include Enzo Ishall
, Killer T, Seh Calaz
, Ti Gonzi, Allanah, Blot, Chillspot Family, Dj Dollarbill, Butler and Trey Jones, in its attempt to outshine its predecessor.
Speaking to a local newspaper Bodyslam this edition looks to make Madirirano a national event.
“With this Madirirano special edition, we want everyone to come. The event is attracting people from as far afield as Mutare, Bulawayo, Zvishavane and Gweru.
“The event is now a national event and we are hoping, with the assistance from the ZTA, to put it on the national calendar because it’s now a tourist attraction. With financial assistance from the government, we would also want it hosted in the National Sports Stadium because Zimbabwean people need Madirirano,” said Chakare.
However, unlike the previous editions where the rest of the ground would get in for free, this time they will be paying.
“This time, the rest of the ground will be paying. We will also be increasing our security. There will be more uniformed police officers on the ground. The line-up is super. It will be fireworks from beginning to end,” said Bodyslam.
Now we wait for Unplugged Zimbabwe artist lineup unveiling which will definitely be a major determiner to who will lure more numbers.
