The gorgeous singer/songwriter Ammara Brown is nominated for the prestigious African Music Magazine Awards & Music Festival, also known as AFRIMMA Awards. The singing sensation is nominated for Best Female Southern Africa.
Known as one of the most talented and best performers in the continent, Ammara’s much-deserved nomination comes after a spectacular year of touring around the globe and releasing music accompanied by music videos.
She is up against the most powerful women in the industry across the African continent in what looks like the most competitive category. These include South Africa’s dance queen Busiswa, very powerful voice Bucie, BET award winner Sho Madjozi, Zonke, Lady X, Kelly Kumalo, Mampi, Cleo Ice Queen and Zimbabwe’s Shashl. She and Shashl are the two Zimbabweans nominated for this award.
The international hitmaker hopes to win this one to reward what has been a sensational year for both musically and personally. She has been the pride of Zimbabwe as she continues to soar to greater heights and continues making music that’s memorable.
She always delivers and her performances are always filled with energy and the crowd resonates with her music.
The annual awards ceremony was created to celebrate music, talent and creativity that is in abundance amongst African artists. It celebrates the raw talent brewed on the African soil in hopes to single out the best of the best for that particular year. They do this by promoting the African culture and heritage since its beginning in 2014.
This year’s theme is Afro Vogue which allows designers from across the continent to attract a new market and showcase the culture of Africanism in Dallas Texas. At the fashion show, designers get the opportunity to showcase their work.
“African artists deserve all the accolades and we are here to hand the accolades with your support.” Said the organisers.
AFRIMMA 2019 is looking to be bigger and better than before, as they have a lot of surprises in store for viewers and audience members and surely looks like they will top last year’s show which included performances from Fally Ipupa, Yemi Alade, Erykah Badu, AfroB, Toofan, C4 Pedro and Harmonize.
