Considered one of the most influential personalities in Zimbabwe, Rhuveneko Parirenyatwa has been making waves in the media industry ever since she kick-started her career in the industry.
The 33-year-old gifted media personality recently suffered a huge and tragic loss that only a person who has been through the same pain can truly understand.

What happened to Ruvheneko’s twins?
In April 2022, a few months after Ruvheneko welcomed her twins who were her first children, the media personality experienced one of the greatest pains as media outlets reported that her twins had unfortunately passed on.
As expected, Ruvheneko and her family chose to mourn their loss privately and details surrounding the cause of Ruvheneko’s twins are yet to be revealed. However, thousands of fans across the country have been kind and since the terrible news was announced, they quickly sent kind and comforting messages to Ruvhenako.
The renowned media personality had revealed in early March 2022 that she was expecting for the first time after making the decision to get pregnant through a sperm donor.
In a long post that accompanied her announcement, Ruvheneko revealed that she had always wanted to be a mum ever since she was 21 years old and that discovering that she had fibroids combined with her age had made her make the conscious decision to begin her motherhood journey taking the unconventional path.
Ruvheneko is currently a single woman according to sources. She was however married for seven years to her ex-husband Tendai Mafara.
The couple got married in 2014 but broke down two years into their marriage and the couple stopped living together. In 2021, Ruvheneko filed for divorce from her husband explaining that her relationship with her husband had “irretrievably broken down” and that there was “no reasonable prospect of the restoration between us of a normal marriage relationship.”
Ruvehneko Parirenyatwa was born in 1988 in an affluent home. She is the daughter of the former Health Minister Dr David Parirenyatwa and Choice Parirenyatwa. Her grandfather Tichafa Samuel Parirenyatwa, was the first black African doctor in Zimbabwe. Parirenyatwa Hospital was named after him.
Having descended from a family of doctors, Ruvheneko’s first career choice was to be a pediatrician too. She however changed her mind after performing poorly in Biology in her O levels.
She joined the University of Cape Town to pursue a course in law but switched to a program in media studies in her second year of study.
In 2009, Ruvheneko graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in media and writing and political science. She also went on to earn a postgraduate diploma in marketing from the same institution.
Having received her training as a journalist, Ruvheneko returned to Zimbabwe to launch her career as a radio presenter and television talk show host.
Over the years, Ruvheneko has worked with some of the biggest radio stations in the country including Star FM, ZiFM Stereo and Capitalk100.4FM and she won a number of prestigious awards and recognition for her work including a Radio personality of the year award.
