Gringo’s Son Joins The Filming Industry

It is rare for many parents to encourage or support their children to join the filming industry in Zimbabwe . One of the major reasons being that the local film industry is less paying as compared to other careers.

However, Lazarus Boora a veteran actor popularly known as Gringo has let his son Taurai Boora also known as Gringaldinho to venture into the film industry.

Taurai told H-metro that he looks up to his father and he has got bigger shoes to fill therefore he is working extra hard in order to match his father.

He also opened up that at first, his father did not like the idea of him being an actor or filmmaker, but later accepted his passion.

“It motivates me knowing that l am Gringo’s son and this also helps me to work hard as l have standards to beat”.

“At first my father did not like the idea of me being an art person as he wanted me to be a lawyer, but as time passed he began to support me, in fact, he is my number one fan.”

24 year old Boora said that he has already done a couple of short films which are yet to be released and he is part of the cast and the production crew.

Moreover, there are also other actors whose children are also in the filming industry . These include Aaron Chiundura Moyo and his son Tatenda Moyo who is currently starring in a ZBC drama Pedyo Kure .

Safiriyo “Mukadota” Madzikatire’s son, Elijah Madzikatire who has done several local movies and dramas and Phillip “Paraffin” Mushangwe’s daughter Tarisai Mushangwe who is an actress is several ZBC TV dramas.
