Bulawayo’s biggest annual music event, which is aimed at giving exposure to up-and-coming hip hop artists, is back and is taking place on the 10th of August.

The Annual August Rush is in its second edition this year and is set to take place at the Rainbow Elite 400 with a star-studded line-up which includes Indigo Saint, Asaph, J.Dumza, McSwagg and many others. The line-up for this year will also include more female MC’s as Blaq Diva Quin, CMK, Lee McHoney ad Mimmie Tarukwana will also grace the stage.

Last year, the show achieved one of it’s primary goals, which is to bridge the gap between the music circle and its potential fans by pulling a crowd of over 400 young fans solely through word of mouth, and this year, it promises to be bigger and better.

With this, the aim is to not only grow, but to also expose Bulawayo musicians to a much larger local and international audience whilst also creating a modern Bulawayo musical culture as there is a lack of music festivals in the city.

Gardner ‘Teecy’ Chisoro, who is one of the event organisers, tweeted that they would appreciate any form of assistance to make this event what they envision it to be.
