Winky D (born Wallace Chirumiko) is a Zimbabwean reggae-dancehall artist best known as "The Big Man" (also spelled "Di Bigman"), as well as Dancehall Igwe, Gaffa, Ninja President, Proffessor, and others.

He is widely recognized as the father of Zimdancehall and one of Zimbabwe's most accomplished contemporary musicians. Little is known about his wife, but in a few songs, he mentions his child's name Tayenda.

The gaffas have continued to defend him in this matter, claiming that he avoids drama for the sake of his family. He was born in Kambuzuma, a densely populated suburb of Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe. He was also a presenter for the Rockers Vibes program, which was all reggae, alongside Trevor Hall.

Winky D was born in the town of Kambuzuma, Zimbabwe. At the age of eight, he developed an early interest in music and began listening to reggae music. He'd spend time looking for and collecting reggae music audio tapes and records. Winky D's brother is Trevor Chirumiko, also known as Layan. Layan is also a singer, songwriter, and television host.

Wallace Chirumiko attended primary and secondary schools in Harare. He attended Rukudzo Primary School before moving on to Kambuzuma High School.

As a teenager, Winky D began performing at small functions and concerts. Winky was discovered at the age of 16 and began performing at Getto Lane Clashes, which were DJ battles to find the talented. He was given the moniker 'Wicked DeeJay' after a while.

Winky D went into the studio with the help of Blacklab Studios' Bartholomew Vera. His early songs, such as "Rasta" and "Dead Inna War," kept the dance floors hopping, as did his inventive stage performances. 

Since then, he has released eleven albums, many of which have charted, earning him fans around the world, as evidenced by successful tours in the United Kingdom, the United States, Asia, and South Africa. Winky D is known as the "King of Dancehall," "Gombwe," "Gafa (Gaffer)," Extraterrestrial, "The BigMan," "Messi wereggae," and "Truthsayer" in the ghettos.

Winky D did not perform at President Robert Mugabe's inauguration gala at the National Sports Stadium in August 2013 due to conflicting statements about the musician's whereabouts during the event.
