Mudiwa Hood, a hip hop musician from Zimbabwe, was born Mudiwa Christian Mutandwa on July 24, 1985.

Rap and gospel music are combined in Mudiwa's compositions. With songs like "Ndaita Mari" and "Anhu Acho Tisu," he became well-known. He attended Nyazura High School and Africa University, where he pursued his MBA.

Due to collaborating with the same producer, he and Stunner released tracks that were identical in June 2015. Craig-Bone provided the rhythm. A song title was also shared by the two artists. Twelve awards have been given to him thus far in the two years after his song debut in April 2012. He released the 16-track album "Mwana Wamambo" in 2015.

The gospel singer announced in 2019 that he and his wife had given birth to a baby boy. Hood is never shy to show his son to his fans online.

Hood, who was raised in Chitungwiza and went to Nyazura High School, was born Mudiwa Mtandwa in Harare in 1985. Later, he graduated from Africa University with Bachelor of Science degrees in Economics and Phycology as well as a Masters in Business Administration (Finance).

His biological great-grandfather gave him the surname "Hood," which he used to start his recording career. As a result of his great-grandfather Hood leaving the family and taking the Mtandwa surname, Hood said in 2019 that he was legally changing his last name to Hood.

At CraigBone Studios in Chitungwiza, Hood started recording his first tracks in 2012. He later released the singles "Chaputika Zvinestaira," "Anhu Acho Tisu," and "Ndaita Mari." Hood got a record deal with Demon Proof Records in 2013, but left the company in 2015 and started HoodNation Records the following year.

Within a year of its release, "Ndaita Mari," which translates to "I Made Money" in Shona, topped the music charts in Zimbabwe for several weeks.

Hood was named a brand ambassador for Ster-Kinekor Zimbabwe in 2015, and Steward Bank used "Ndaita Mari" in its ads.

The follow-up singles from Hood, "Number 1" and "Mwana waMambo," spent several weeks in the top-20 of the Star FM Zimbabwe Gospel Greats chart. "Number 1" was on the chart from September 2013 until May 2014. Both the 2015 single "Shinga," featuring Nox, and the 2014 track "Love yaSolo" reached the top 10 of the Power FM Zimbabwe list.

Hood was cast in the ZBC TV drama Muzita Rababa in 2017, which won the 2020 National Arts Merit Awards for best Zimbabwe television series. He plays a pastor who oversees the church choir in the show. Mudiwa Hood launched the reality television series UnderTheHood for ZBC TV in June 2021.

Hood published a book titled Shut Up and Make Money in 2020.
