The reggae and Zimdancehall artist has added yet another international award to his cabinet. This comes after the artist won the Best Dancehall Artist 2020 Award at the recently held African Entertainment Awards United States of America (AEAUSA). Winky was battling it out in a category that had the likes of Patoranking, Shatta Wale, Bebe Cool, Jose Chameleone among others. At the same awards show Jah Prayzah was nominated in the Entertainer of the Year category while Sha Sha also received a nomination in the Best Female Artist category, battling it out with other prominent African artistes.

Unfortunately, Jah Prayzah and Sha Sha were not victorious, losing to Eddy Kenzo and Nandy respectively. Winky D was grateful to his fans for the accolade and it was befitting gratitude as the award depended on fan votes. In the social media post celebrating his win, Winky D wrote:

"Great appreciation to The Gafas, to whom l dedicate this award, i'm forever humbled by your uncompromising confidence and unwavering commitment to the Vigilance works. This is a befitting Festive bonus for the trilogy ‪#babaabhurahama"‬

The AEAUSA awards ceremony is held annually since 2015 in New Jersey with 30 awards being presented to various artists across the continent with the mission to support, celebrate and uplift African Entertainment. AEAUSA presents over 30 awards during the two-day event and is the only award-giving body to honour practitioners across all crafts and industry sectors, including Entertainment,  Entrepreneurship and Community Leadership.

The award comes as Winky D's newly released song “Reply” from his new album Ragga Mambo Trilogy is trending at Number 2 on YouTube with over 380 000 views. The video for Reply set a new record for the most viewed video in 24 hours and with this Winky D dethroned Jah Prayzah for that title. The new music came as a surprise to many as he made the announcement on Wednesday that new music would be coming on Thursday. Winky D has had a busy couple headlining shows both locally and in the surrounding countries.

A few weeks ago he left fans baffled as he performed live on Nash TV and in Johannesburg. It, however, turned out that his Nash TV performance had been prerecorded before he had left for South Africa. Winky D’s fans were overjoyed this morning as they dived into his latest release. The much anticipated Ragga Msamba trilogy consists of three songs: David And Goliath; Reggae Msambo and Reply. The three songs already have social media buzzing with many applauding the Big Man for his consistency in delivering good music and alluding that he is the country’s music giant.

They're also many people who are already comparing his trilogy of songs with Jah Prayzah‘s recent tracks Mwana WaMambo and Porovhoka which was released a few days ago. Initially when Winky D announced he would be releasing new music fans started asking, "Who provoked him?" A statement which was poking fun at Jah Prayzah's latest single.
