This year began with the award-winning radio personality climbing to the top of Mt Inyangani, the highest mountain in Zimbabwe. She explained how she had never gone hiking but she now understood what the phrase go take a hike meant after the experience and she also mentioned her intent to chase the sun this year.

In an interview following the successful climb she said:
"This year, I am Chasing the Sun. I live in Africa with the most beautiful sunsets, for free! So why not chase the sun, every single day? I love the sun. I love the light. This hike was significant to me because I didn’t think the decision through long enough to process the parts about “gomo rinoyera” or “having the right hiking boots" or being “physically fit enough” beforehand. Lord knows how physically unfit I still am! But you know what, I prayed at the foot of the mountain for God to carry me; and that, He did. Halfway up, I saw an Eagle."
This past weekend Ruvheneko hosted her first Chasing The Sun event and it featured a cameo from the man of the moment Jah Prayzah. It was hosted at Danai Farm in Glen Forest and from videos posted by Ruvheneko it seemed have held host to about 40-50 guests. Chasing The Sun is going to be a series of summer picnics hosted by Ruvheneko. We're not yet sure of where the next one will be or how many they'll be but we can look forward to quite a few.
In the Instagram caption of a trailer for the event held this past weekend Ruvheneko said:
"Thank You to EVERYONE who supported the first edition of #ChasingTheSun at Danai Farm. You are appreciated! "Biggly!" Let's chase the sun; find our light and glow through all seasons. See you at the next one... and the next... and the next!"
A fan commented on one of the videos from the first Chasing The Sun event saying they would've loved to come and Ruvheneko said: "come in December".

This could mean the next event will be in December, we'll be on the lookout for it and the invite.
