This was a reference to Mukudzeyi Jnr's first single which was released a few months ago. The song titled Rovai Ngoma was released on Nash tv's YouTube and it instantly became a hit. The song has since surpassed 1.2 million views, a feat many industry veterans have not yet achieved. Mukudzeyi is still only ten but he shows that he is determined to follow in his father's footsteps.

Speaking on the song to Southern African Times, Mukudzeyi Jnr said he never expected his first song to get a reception like that and he pointed out how he has always been into music.

“Music is something that is within me, but honestly, for a very long time I never had the confidence to tell my dad about it.

“I recorded ‘Rovai Ngoma’ without even planning it. It happened one weekend when my dad took me to his studio." He says he saw Victor Stot who is one of his father's producers in the studio and seized the opportunity and went into the booth and recorded with his guidance and assistance. Mukudzeyi said his father was impressed and what came next is what we are seeing now.

“I know it’s too early for me to start talking much about the future, but what I can tell you is that, in as much as I love music, I still love school and I wish to become a lawyer someday. My plan is to balance the two, study hard and learn as much as I can from my dad," the young artist went on.

“I have a very close relationship with my dad and he supports me in everything I do, so as long as my father is on my side I have faith I will archive the two, (music and education).

“Currently I am not working on anything. My dad doesn’t want me to put too much pressure on myself, he says I should get enough time to play, read and do other staff that other kids do. So for now since I recently released something, I am not working on anything but after resting a bit I will do another project.

“My dad is my favourite artiste, and I mainly listen to his music because someday I want to become like him.”

A while back Jah Prayzah also mentioned how he saw a musical spark in his son but he didn't want to rush him into music. He wanted him to pursue school and then gradually enter into music. Yet with the breakout success of his first single, it seems the sky is the limit for young Mukudzeyi Jnr. The apple truly doesn't fall far from the tree.
