Zimbabwean businessman and socialite Genius Ginimbi Kadungure took to Instagram to expose fake accounts that were posing as him on the social network. Things got messy as the outraged businessman warned his followers not to fall for the dubious profiles.

Hacking and cybercrime are real things in this day and age. It can cost you money and sometimes it can even cost you your identity when your name and profile end up in the wrong hands. Which is why it's vital that you do everything you can to secure your online brand and identity because it's even more of a threat when you are a public figure. And figures don't come more public than Ginimbi.

The outspoken and controversial businessman is already having to deal with claims that he exploits willing participants into working with him by luring them into Forex schemes and other pyramid traps. He's made it clear (in all caps even) that he is a legitimate businessman who makes his money in a clean and respectable manner.

So you can imagine how livid he was when he discovered agencies and individuals posing as him and using his pictures to promote their dodgy services. He wasted no time in addressing his followers when he said:

"Fake Fake Fake! Beware of Fraudsters!"

Genius issued a number of the fake alerts and proceded to continuing to promote his lavish night club. Several months ago, Ginimbi launched Dreams in Harare at a glitzy and expensive event that was supported by local and South African media. At the time he boasted, "There will be no place that is going to be like Dreams. If there is, I will close the following day.”

Well, let's just make sure that things continue to work out and he doesn't find himself trending for the wrong (or fake!) reasons again.
