In classic Zimdancehall fashion of remixing classics and songs from other genres, it appears Enzo Ishal has put in some work in the studio. And being one of Zimdancehall's somewhat unproblematic stars we love to see it.
In a video snippet shared on his Instagram page, a song with the Zimdancehall start singing, "John chivhura gedhi" could be heard. In the video, dancers could be seen attempting their own version of the viral South African #JohnVuliGateChallenge

The now-removed video features the choreographers Nixxi Hendrix and Yashie Chihota among other unidentified guys dancing to the tune. Judging from the comment section his fans are eager for the song and the dance challenge that'll undoubtedly come with it.

Clearly, the song is yet to be officially released but we expect it's coming soon from the Siya something hitmaker. We expect it to light up Zimbabwe as his music always does and maybe soon the internet will be awash with the #JohnVhuraGedhiChallenge. 💁🏾‍♀️

However, this might feed into the sentiment that has been shared online that Zimbabweans don't start their own trends but often join the South African bandwagon. One could also say we live in a global community and we'll obviously be influenced by our neighbours.

From how several, in fact, most Zimbabweans have invested in the #JerusalemaChallenge to the wildfire of John Vuli Gate, it paints a picture of viral power and the new Enzo Ishal song will definitely be fuel to the fire. Zimdancehall has been the defining genre of Zimbabwean music for the past decade and from the consistent work ethic of artists like Enzo Ishal that doesn't seem like it'll change soon.
